Polls

Use polls to ask attendees a timed question during a live broadcast, collect responses, and show results. You can also let replay viewers answer polls that ran during the broadcast.

Create a poll

1. Open the broadcast studio.

2. Open Audience, then select Polls.

3. Select Create Poll.

4. Enter the question and choose Single Choice, Multiple Choice, or Rating Scale.

5. Add answer options or rating labels. Set Response Time from 1 minute to 24 hours, and decide whether results should be visible live or after the broadcast.

6. Turn on Allow replay responses? if replay viewers should be able to answer. This is off by default.

7. Create the poll. It starts as a draft until you activate it.

Run a poll live

• Activate the poll when you want attendees to answer it.

• Use the countdown and response count to judge when enough people have answered.

• Close the poll to stop live responses. If replay responses are enabled, closing live voting does not stop them.

• Use live results for quick audience feedback, or keep results hidden if you want to discuss them later.

Collect replay responses

• Only polls activated during the broadcast being replayed are available for replay responses. Saving a draft without activating it is not enough.

• Each viewer has one hour from their first replay visit to answer eligible polls. Reloading, rejoining or seeking through the replay does not restart that hour.

• Each person can respond once across live and replay. Someone who answered live cannot submit another response during the replay.

• You can change replay acceptance after live voting. Open the poll's action menu and choose Allow replay responses or Disable replay responses. Disable it when you want to stop accepting replay answers.

• Poll results combine live and replay responses. Use Combined to see the Live and Replay breakdown.

Good to know

• Polls are linked to the broadcast chat room, so the same poll appears for attendees watching the session.

• Edit question text and answers while a poll is a draft. Treat active polls and polls with responses as live data; replay acceptance can still be changed separately.

• Use short questions and clear answer options so attendees can respond without leaving the stream.
