Moderate audience activity

Moderation tools help hosts keep chat and Q&A useful during a live session. Depending on the item, you can answer questions, delete content, approve submitted questions, or ban disruptive users from the room.

Moderate chat and Q&A

  1. Open the broadcast studio.

  2. Open the Audience panel.

  3. Go to Chat or Q&A.

  4. Hover over the message or question you want to manage.

  5. Open the moderation menu and choose the action you need.

Available actions

  • Answer a Q&A item to mark it as handled, with optional answer text.

  • Approve a question if your workspace requires Q&A approval before questions appear publicly.

  • Delete a message or question when it should no longer appear in the room.

  • Ban a user from the room when they should no longer be able to post.

Moderation tips

  • Agree who is moderating before the broadcast starts.

  • Use Q&A for questions you plan to answer, and chat for lightweight conversation.

  • Delete sparingly when a message is confusing, duplicated, or inappropriate.

  • Ban users only when they are disrupting the broadcast or repeatedly ignoring guidance.
