Map registration fields to integrations

Registration field mapping controls which custom question responses are sent to connected CRM and email integrations. Use it when a field should become a usable property in the external system, not just stay inside HeyStream.

Before you start

  • Connect at least one CRM or email integration that supports custom field sync.

  • Create or edit the registration question you want to sync.

  • Decide whether the response is useful for follow-up, qualification, segmentation, or reporting outside HeyStream.

Map a field

  1. Open the broadcast, series, or question library area where the registration question is managed.

  2. Create a new custom question or edit an existing one.

  3. Find the Sync to Integrations section. It appears when there is an active sync-capable integration available.

  4. Select the integration connections that should receive this field value.

  5. Save the question or broadcast settings.

How values are sent

  • HeyStream uses the registration question label to create a readable external field key.

  • Text, select, and choice responses are sent as formatted text values.

  • Checkbox responses can be sent as true or false values where supported.

  • Only selected fields are elevated into the contact record for the selected integration connection.

Field mapping tips

  • Keep labels stable after syncing begins so external field names stay predictable.

  • Avoid syncing sensitive or internal-only questions unless your external system is approved for that data.

  • Use mapping for fields your team will actually use, such as company size, role, goal, product interest, or buying timeline.
