Getting started

First-broadcast checklist

Use this checklist before your first live session in HeyStream. It covers the most important setup, rehearsal, live, and post-event checks.

The HeyStream broadcasts dashboard where a team can review upcoming, live, and completed broadcasts before going live.

Workspace setup

  • Workspace name, public brand name, logo, and icon are set.

  • Default timezone is correct.

  • Studio defaults are reviewed.

  • Any required destinations, integrations, or website widgets are connected.

Broadcast details

  • Broadcast title is clear and attendee-friendly.

  • Description explains what attendees will learn or see.

  • Date, time, timezone, and estimated duration are correct.

  • Thumbnail or preview image looks right.

  • The broadcast is attached to the right series, if it belongs to one.

Registration

  • Registration is enabled if you want people to sign up before watching.

  • Custom registration questions are useful and not excessive.

  • Registration page copy and branding look correct.

  • Registration links or website widgets have been tested.

  • Calendar links and confirmation emails are working as expected.

Presenters and team

  • All presenters have been added to the broadcast.

  • Each presenter has the correct invite link.

  • Hosts, speakers, moderators, and production teammates know their role.

  • Presenters have tested camera, microphone, speakers, and internet connection.

Studio readiness

  • Layouts and scenes are prepared for each part of the session.

  • Slides, demos, or media are ready to share.

  • Chat, Q&A, polls, and reactions are set up the way you want them.

  • Any additional streaming destinations show as healthy before you go live.

  • Recording settings are understood by the team.

CTAs and follow-up

  • The main next step for attendees is clear.

  • Live and replay CTAs are ready, if you plan to use them.

  • Payment CTAs are connected to Stripe, if you are taking paid action from the broadcast.

  • Follow-up segments are planned for registrants, live attendees, replay viewers, CTA clickers, and no-shows.

Right before going live

  • Join the studio early.

  • Confirm audio and video for every presenter.

  • Check the watch page from an attendee perspective.

  • Confirm the run of show and who will manage audience engagement.

  • Start only when the team is ready and the attendee experience looks correct.

After the broadcast

  • Check that the recording and replay are available.

  • Review audience CRM activity, engagement insights, and CTA performance.

  • Export or sync contacts if needed.

  • Send follow-up based on what each person did, not just whether they registered.
